ODSL is the trading subsidiary of the Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult, the UK’s flagship technology innovation and research centre for advancing wind, wave and tidal energy.
It works closely with partners from across industry and academia, and uses its world-leading test and demonstration facilities to develop new ways of working and prove, de-risk and develop promising new technologies. All this helps to reduce the cost of offshore renewable energy, supporting business growth and delivering UK economic benefit.
ORE Catapult has a range of specialist capabilities and world-leading facilities both in terms of HV testing and subsea testing requirements, as well as significant expertise in both power conversion technologies and testing procedures for cable monitoring devices.
ORE Catapult has undertaken a variety of technical development work for a range of connection equipment for the subsea sector including: high voltage subsea power cables, switch gear, cable protection systems and various installation technology trials for novel ROV concepts.
